Theodore Smith Burk, Jr., 67, of Amity, died Tuesday, June 30, 2015, in Weirton Medical Center.
He was born May 8, 1948, in Washington, a son of the late Theodore Smith Burk Sr. and Mary Leonard Burk.
Mr. Burk was a veteran of the Navy, serving from August 3, 1965, until his honorable discharge on May 16, 1969, as an EN3. He was awarded a National Defense Service Medal.
Mr. Burk worked as a welder at Jessop Steel for 35 years and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was a Mason and a member of L.O.O.M 22, Jessop Club, VFW 927, and American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
On December 22, 1966, he married Mary Munchie, who survives.
Also surviving are a son, Theodore Smith Burk III, of Amity; two daughters, Beth Ann King (Don) of Prosperity and Lisa Marie Burk of Weirton, West Virginia; a brother, Donnie “Doc” Burk of Washington; three sisters, Shirley Cossu (John) and Marilyn Molinaro (Sam), both of Washington, and Barbra Hines of Claysville; four grandchildren, Ashley Burk, Emily Lowther, Kayley Hughes and Zachary Hughes; and a great-grandchild, Paytton Burk.
Deceased are a brother, Gary Burk, and a great-grandchild, Amiah Hanna.
Friends will be received Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 7th. Burial will follow in National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville. Military rites will be accorded graveside by Edwin Scott Linton American Legion Post 175.
