Betty L. Hayes Paige, 85, of Washington, died Thursday, June 25, 2015, in Washington County Health Center. She was born June 27, 1929, in Greene County, a daughter of Howard Allen and Mildred Florence Crouse Allen. Mrs. Paige worked at Hazel Atlas #2 then at RCA in Arden as a radio assembler. She was Christian by faith and a prayer warrior. Mrs. Paige was an inspiration to people and always willing to give instead of receive. On July 24, 1966, she married John Paige, who died July 2, 1994. Surviving are six sisters, Sarah Mull (Robert) of Claysville, Mildred Boldy (William) of Irwin, Thelma Allen of Pittsburgh, Mary Etta Moss (Howard) of Houston, Esther “Casey” Allen of Virginia Beach, Virginia, and Ruth O’Dell of Canonsburg; two brothers, Howard W. “Wrenick” Allen of Washington and Joe Allen of Vietnam; a stepbrother, John McKay of the state of California; two grandchildren, Becky Jo Ferrell and Rhonda Camara; and several great-grandchildren. Deceased are her first husband, James Hayes; a son, James Clark Hayes; two sisters, June Yater and Leona Mull; and a stepsister, Irene Davis. A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, July 2nd, from 10 till 11 a.m., the time of a memorial service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. Michael Roach officiating. Inurnment will follow in Washington Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior Project, One Oxford Centre, 301 Grant St, Pittsburgh, PA 15219.
