Donald "Dink" Bilby

Donald Lee “Dink” Bilby, 81, of Washington, died Sunday, June 21, 2015, in UPMC – Presbyterian, Pittsburgh. He was born July 5, 1933, in Washington, a son of the late William M. Bilby and Mary E. Pierson Bilby. Mr. Bilby graduated from Washington High School in 1951 and attended Pittsburgh Technical Institute. He worked as an accountant for Van Huffel Tube Corporation in Warren, Ohio, and as the director of human resources for Accurate Forging in Brave. Mr. Bilby enjoyed fishing, traveling and walking and was an avid Steelers, Pirates and Penguins fan. He served in the Navy from August 25, 1952, until his honorable discharge on August 24, 1956, with a rank of Yeoman. After discharge, he served in the Navy Reserves for four years. Mr. Bilby was Protestant by faith. On March 26, 1988, he married Shirley J. Collar, who survives. Also surviving are a son, Scott Lee Bilby of Washington; a stepdaughter, Candace (Robert) Tarr of Washington; a brother, Robert M. (Norma) Bilby of Washington; a sister, Hilda M. (Chuck) Dicks of Ringgold, Georgia; three grandchildren, Kristen (Justin) Lesniak, Hannah (Garrett) Martin and Austin Bilby; two step grandchildren, Shana Tarr (Fiancée Matt Slogan) and Matthew Tarr; and a great-granddaughter, Ellie Martin. Deceased are his first wife, Audrey Page Bilby, who died in 1981; and a brother who died in infancy. Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Friday, June 26th, with Pastor Michael Lehman officiating. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery.
