Marjorie Pauline Moore King, 90, of West Middletown, died on Saturday, June 20, 2015, in her home.
She was born on April 1, 1925, in Claysville, a daughter of the late Charles James and Edythe M. Hagan Moore.
Mrs. King had worked for thirty-five years as the Postmaster in West Middletown.
A graduate of Claysville High School, she was a member of Grove United Presbyterian Church for over fifty years.
Marjorie was President of the West Middletown Garden Club, a member of McKevers Studies, President of West Middletown Borough Council, a member of Follansbee WV Moose Lodge, the Washington American Legion, Grove United Presbyterian Church Kitchen Band, supervisor for Washington County Fair for flowers, a member of Cross Creek Senior Citizens, West Middletown VFD Auxiliary, and the West Virginia Cloggers Dancers.
On April 21, 1945, she married Earl Emerson King, who died on January 22, 1981.
Surviving are two daughters, Polly Jo Hahn, of Evansville, IN, and Cheryl Ann (Charles Cerenzia), of Canonsburg, a brother, James (Karen) Moore, of Texas, two sisters, Marilyn Beattie, of California, and Sue (Larry) Pegram, of Mt. Pleasant, a grandson, Ryan (Casey) Hahn, of Evansville, IN, a great-granddaughter, Lilly Hahn, of Evansville, IN, and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased are a brother, Donald Moore, and two sisters, Leora Fonner, and Jeane Lawton.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Thursday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 11:30 a.m., Friday, June 26, 2015, with Rev. Jack Emerick officiating.
Burial will follow in West Middletown Cemetery.
