Darlene Gail Cowden, 72, of Houston, formerly of Canonsburg, died on Saturday, June 20, 2015, in the Donnell House.
She was born on November 10, 1942, in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Alvin R. and Myrta Small Cowden.
A graduate of Fort Cherry High School, she also graduated from Clarion State Technical College.
Ms. Cowden was an elementary school teacher in the Chartiers-Houston School District.
She was a member of Hickory United Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Darlene loved travel, horses, dogs, genealogy, and painting pictures.
Surviving are several aunts, uncles, cousins, and many friends.
Deceased are her paternal grandparents, J. Lawrence and Thelma Rumbaugh Cowden, and her maternal grandparents James C. and Cora Cannon Small.
Friends will be received on Monday, June 22, 2015, from 10 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., the time of services, in Hickory United Evangelical Presbyterian Church, 210 Main St., Hickory, with Pastors Robert Shull and Lou Templeton, co-officiating.
Burial will follow in Mt. Prospect Cemetery.
