Mary M. Fields

Mary Matilda Maurer Fields, 81, of Washington, died Thursday, June 18, 2015, in Kindred Hospital, Oakdale. She was born December 13, 1933, in Washington, a daughter of the late Karl Maurer and Minnie Theresa Young Maurer. Mrs. Fields graduated from Trinity High School, attended Penn Commercial, and retired from Fields’ Implement Store. She was a member of Martha V. Paul #404 Order of Eastern Star, the Buffalo Homemakers Group and the Red Hatters. On July 27, 1957, she married John “Ebbie” Fields, who died July 23, 2009. Surviving are a son, John Fields of Washington; a daughter, Janice Weis (Keith) of Omaha, Nebraska; a brother, Carl Maurer (Catherine) of Washington; and a grandchild, Logan Weis. Friends will be received Sunday from 6 till 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, June 22, 2015, with Pastor Judy Mayer officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
