Theodore Teddy Trapuzzano

Theodore “Teddy” H. Trapuzzano Jr., 74 of Washington, was called home to his Lord, Jesus Christ on Saturday, May 16, 2015. He passed away at his home after suffering for several years with illness. He was surrounded by his loving wife, children, and family, friends and trusted dog Ally. He was born April 13, 1941 in Washington, a son of Theodore Trapuzzano and Angelica Sylvia Trapuzzano. Mr. Trapuzzano was a member of the Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, where he once served as an Alter Boy. He graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1960 and attended Hagerstown Community College and the University of Pittsburgh. His work experience included 15 years with the State of Pennsylvania and 35 years within the Insurance Instrustry. He managed baseball teams for 22 years at Washington Youth Baseball with his son as co-manager and they won numerous WYB league championships. The co-managed a record four Washington Pony World Series Team’s finishing with winning records (2-1) in 1990, 1992, 1993 and tied for Olympic format division lead twice (1992 and 1993). Additionally, he was instrumental in starting Western Pennsylvania’s first Fall Baseball League and High School Travel Teams, and managing the Tri-State Palomino (1995-2000). He loved spending everyday, but especially weekends, with his family and friends. He enjoyed watching Notre Dame, PITT, Steelers, Pirates and the Yankees. He opened his home to everyone, sharing pasta and vino. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Teresina Iolanda Trapuzzano, his three children, Theodore “Ted” (Dianne) Trapuzzano of Canonsburg, Antonio “Tony” (Lyn) Trapuzzano of Washington; Teresa “Rina” (James) Huff of McMurray; two grandchildren, Layla Grace Huff and Benjamin James Huff; brothers and sister in laws, Eugenio (Vicki) Trapuzzano and Alfredo (Judy) Trapuzzano, Vittorio (Iole) Trapuzzano; Mary Ann Trapuzzano, Alba (Marcello) Trapuzzano, Italia (Paolo) Trapuzzano and his beloved dog, Ally; several nieces and nephew and trusted friends He is preceded in death by his parents, Theodore and Angelica “Sylvia” Trapuzzano; his brothers and sisters in laws, Edmund “Ben” and Elizabeth Trapuzzano, Hannibal “Neeb” and Jean Trapuzzano and Camillo Trapuzzano. Friends will be received Monday, May 18, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Funeral Homes, Ltd, 925 Allison Ave, Washington. A mass of Christian Burial will be held at Immculate Conception Roman Catholic Church on Tuesday, May 19 at 10:00 a.m. with Father William Feeney as celebrant.
