Johnnie B.“John” Cohen, 52 of Braddock, PA, formerly of Washington, died unexpectedly in his home, on May 9, 2015, from complications of diabetes. He was born February 20, 1963 in Washington, the son of the late Johnnie Corruthers and Dorothy Reed Cohen. John graduated from Washington High School in 1981 and worked recently at McCormick & Schmick in Pittsburgh for 8 years while he was self-employed with a restaurant maintenance business. He previously worked for I- Richmond & Sons for 8 years as a yard foreman and also removed asbestos and was certified remediation tech. He played multiple sports in school and was always remembered for returning a punt for Wash High, 72 yards to beat Trinity in last seconds of a cross-town rivalry. He had a great love of music and was an avid Yankee and Steelers fan. He lived for his children and grandchild. Surviving are his former wife and best friend, Michelle Cohen; three sons, Jonathan Cohen of Washington, Calin Cohen of Washington, Chance Cohen of Washington; five daughters, Brittany Copechal, Lashelle Cohen, Jonelle Cohen, Hannah Cohen and Hope Cohen, all of Washington; five brothers, James Cohen, Henry Cohen, Robert “Bobby” Cohen and Terrance Cohen, all of Washington, Michael Cohen of Jeanette; a sister, Darnella Ganaway of Pittsburgh; a grandchild Ramonte Barfield Jr. and a second grandson due in August; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Deceased is a brother Carl “Tony” Cohen. Friends will be received Friday, May 15, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Saturday, May 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Richard White officiating. Burial will be private and held at a later date at Washington Cemetery
