Helen Jean Dicks Kelley, 87, of Washington, died April 21, 2015, in Presbyterian Senior Care.
She was born June 12, 1927, in Washington, a daughter of the late Clarence H. Dicks and Helen Marie King Dicks.
Mrs. Kelley worked as a cashier at Murphy’s and Paul’s Grocery.
She was a member of First Baptist Church and its Fidelity Class.
Mrs. Kelley was known for her outstanding potato salad.
On January 22, 1948, she married Harold Reed Kelley, who died May 15, 2000.
Surviving are two sons, Robert C. Kelley (Linda) and John P. Kelley (Pam), both of Washington; two daughters, Barbara Baltosser (Don) of Mechanicsburg and Ruth Ziegler of New Bloomfield; four sisters, Mary Cania, Alberta Lunn, and Clara Anderson, all of Washington, and Margaret “Peg” McVehil of Beaver Falls; nine grandchildren, Grace Kelley, Melissa Pearson, Mathew Kelley, Scott Kelley, Ryan Kelley, Kristen Kelley, Brittany Kelley, Brian Hudson and Randall Hudson; and eight great-grandchildren.
Deceased are a son, Carl R. Kelley; five brothers, Frances, Clarence, William, Herbert and Louis Dicks; and a sister, Jane Dicks.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 24, 2015, with Rev. Steven Dunlap officiating. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens, McMurray.
