Nora Marie Bopp Welch, 92, of Washington, died Monday, April 20, 2015, in Donnell House.
She was born September 6, 1922, in Washington, a daughter of John A. and Elizabeth Nicholson Bopp.
Mrs. Bopp worked as a nursing assistant at the Washington Hospital for 10 years. She enjoyed bingo, crocheting, caring for her children, and, when younger, dancing.
Mrs. Bopp was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and volunteered at Hospice and Central Blood Bank.
In 1942, she married Charles H. Welch, Sr., who died April 4, 1983.
Surviving are three sons, Charles H. Welch, Jr., (Patricia) of Dayville, Connecticut, Jack Welch (Sharon) of Washington and John T. Welch (Kathy) of Canonsburg; two daughters, Elizabeth “Betty” Baumgardner (Charles) of Washington and Diane Austing (Mike) of Dennison, Ohio; a sister, Ruby King Harris of Buchanan, West Virginia; 17 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several great-great grandchildren.
Deceased are two sisters, Ruth Wise and Lucy Weaver; two brothers, John and Samuel Bopp; and two grandchildren, Stevie Welch and Tammy Tetreault.
At the request of the deceased, there will be no public viewing. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
A Blessing Service will be held Saturday, June 13, 2015 at noon at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd. 925 Allison Ave, Washington. Burial will follow at Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
