Audine Carolyn Beno, 71, of Washington, died Wednesday, April 15, 2015, in UPMC – Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
She was born January 27, 1944, in North Carolina, a daughter of the late James and Naomi MeNeely King.
Mrs. Beno attended Avella High School and worked as a materials coordinator for Columbia Gas.
Passionate about horse racing, she not only owned horses but she raced standard-bred horses at the Meadows from 1976-1992.
Mrs. Beno was involved with Habitat for Humanity and was a kind and caring person.
On November 27, 1983, she married Andrew Beno, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, David Mark Patterson (Deaneen) and Kenneth W. Patterson (Sandy), both of Avella; a daughter, Mendi Burgess of Washington; a stepdaughter, Stephanie Richter of Washington; six grandchildren, Jeremiah, Joshua, Elyse, Brittany, Tyler and Autumn; and four great-grandchildren, Tucker, Willow, Jacob and Gabrielle.
Friends will be received Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., and Saturday from 11 a.m. till 1 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. Joe DiDonato officiating. Burial will follow in Independence Cemetery.
