Penny Lynn Closser

Penny Lynn Closser, 53, of Avella, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, March 29, 2015, in the Washington Hospital Emergency Room. Penny was the first born of twin daughters to J. Everett, Jr., and Shirley Ann King Kelley, of Avella. She was born on November 8, 1961, in Washington. Mrs. Closser attended Avella High School, but graduated from West Middletown Christian School in 1979. She had been a member of Grace Bible Church, but currently was attending Friendship Community Church. Mrs. Closser worked for St. Moritz Building Services, for 6 years, Giant Eagle, Claysville Truck Stop, Tanger Outlets and Peggy D’s. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. She also enjoyed collecting humming birds and Tinkerbell, gardening, and going to flea markets. Penny’s favorite hymn was Amazing Grace, and her favorite verse was Isaiah 40:31. On July 24, 1993, she married Cole Elwyn Closser, who survives. Also surviving, are two sisters, her twin sister, Patti J. (David) Riggs, of Wellsburg, WV, and Mary M. “Pumpkin” (Sam) Stoey, of Waterfall, PA; five nieces, and four nephews, numerous aunts and uncles, and her paternal grandfather, Everett Kelley. Deceased are a brother, James E. “Bodie” Kelley, III, a paternal grandmother and her maternal grandparents Friends will be received on Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, where services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, April 2, 2015, with Pastor Rick Bruckner officiating. Burial will follow in West Alexander Cemetery.
