Patricia A. Hanes

Patricia A. Hanes 1928 – 2015 Patricia A. Hanes, 86, of Washington, formerly of Amity, died February 27, 2015. She was born March 20, 1928, in Gratztown, Pennsylvania, a daughter of the late Herbert and Ruth (Troup) Smith. Mrs. Hanes was a registered nurse and a graduate of West Penn Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh. Prior to her retirement, she was employed by the Washington County Health Center. On December 30, 1950, she married Ralph Albert Hanes, who died March 17, 1978. Surviving are two sons, Donald Hanes and wife Karen of Washington and Bob Hanes and wife Debbie of Hickory; daughter-in-law, Debby Hanes of Washington; five grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Deceased, in addition to her husband, are a son, Ralph C. Hanes; and four siblings, Iva McLaughlin, Donald (Sonny) Smith, Herbert Smith, and Sherrey Gaskin. Interment will be private in Washington Cemetery.
