Emil John Lorenzato, 88, of Washington, died on Sunday, March 8, 2015, in the Washington Hospital. He had been in declining health for the past 6 months.
He was born on July 14, 1926, in Washington, a son of the late Alesandra and Emma Bof Lorenzato.
Mr. Lorenzato attended Trinity Schools, and was Roman Catholic, by faith.
A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he served from June 23, 1944, until his honorable discharge as Gunner’s Mate Third Class, on June 9, 1946. For his service, he was awarded the Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon, World War II Victory Medal, and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon.
He worked as a deliveryman for McCreath Dairy, for many years before moving to Hallandale, FL, where he worked building and installing awnings for forty years, prior to returning to Washington to retire.
Emil had many interests, and he loved to work.
On November 25, 1950, he married Jeanne Johnson, who died on July 1, 2004.
Surviving are two sisters, Gloria T. “Dolly” Lorenzato and Janet Bof, both of Washington, and two nephews.
At the request of the deceased, services, and interment in the Washington Cemetery, were private and held at the convenience of the family.
