Wilma Pearl Beatty

Wilma Pearl Beatty, 89 of Washington, formerly of Prosperity for 50 years, died Thursday, February 19, 2015 at the Washington Hospital. She was born February 17, 1926 in West Finley, the daughter of the late Homer Carson Miller and Sarah Rankin Miller. Wilma was a homemaker and enjoyed bingo, cooking, baking, gardening, quilting, sewing circle and taking care of others, and she loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Everyone enjoyed her homemade pies and rolls. She was a member of Old Concord Presbyterian Church. On January 5, 1946 she married Clyde Elmer Beatty, who died March 8, 2002. Surviving are a son, James (Vanessa) C. Beatty of Prosperity; a daughter, Dorothy (James) Simpson of Washington; two brothers, Homer “Gene” E. Miller of West Alexander, Ralph Carson Miller of Washington; seven grandchildren, Michele (Jeff) Belfiore, Melissa (Jack) Cole, Michael (Heather) Simpson, Jennifer (Kevin) Hancher, Erin (Rob) Sprowls, Shane (Emma) Beatty, Sheena Beatty; eleven great grandchildren, Nicole Belfiore, Lauren Belfiore, Emily Cole, Craig “CJ” Cole, Luke Simpson, Hannah Simpson, Nicholas Hancher, Samantha Hancher, Colton Sprowls, Cody Sprowls and Jade Beatty. Deceased are a son, Richard E. Beatty; two brothers, Delbert Miller and Clyde Miller. Friends will be received Sunday, February 22, 2015 from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Monday, February 23rd at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Russ Baird officiating. Burial will follow at West Finley Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Old Concord United Presbyterian Church, 155 Old Concord Rd, Prosperity, PA 15329 or Presbyterian Senior Care Chaplaincy Fund, 850 South Main St, Washington, PA 15301.
