Accious Elizabeth “Liz” Yilit, 78, of Avella, died on Saturday, February 14, 2015, in the Washington Hospital. She had been in failing health over the past few years.
She was born on December 26, 1936, in Washington, a daughter of the late William John Charles and Anna Marie Malinak Duke.
Mrs. Yilit had worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse at Woodville, Mayview, and Western Center State Hospitals.
She was a member of Church of the Covenant.
Liz loved her family, especially her grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
She enjoyed playing with the card club and a bowling league, and was an avid crocheter.
On December 30, 1955, she married Milan Yilit, who survives.
Also surviving, are a son, Timothy John (Joni) Yilit, of Avella, a daughter, Debra (Ben) Evans, of Avella, three sisters, Evelyn Logar, of Washington, Dorothy Markle, of Washington, and Patricia (Buddy) Rolek, of Canonsburg; seven grandchildren, Allison and Olivia Evans, Stephanie (Ty) Staples, Alicia and Timothy (Kayla) Yilit, and Robert and Jessica Glass; seven great-grandchildren, Jasmine, Veronica, Brittany, Kya, J.J., Nate, and Camron; and Cathy Harding.
Deceased are a brother, John Duke, and two sisters, Anna Marie Hete, and Barbara Purdy.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, from 6 to 8 p.m., and Wednesday, from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington. Additional visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2015, from 10 to 11 a.m., the time of services, in Church of the Covenant, 267 E. Beau St., Washington.
Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens.
