Margaret Ruth Phillips, 75, of Washington, formerly of Prosperity, died Friday, January 23, 2015, in Washington County Health Center.
She was born June 24, 1939, in Washington, a daughter of the late Samuel Lambert Pattison and Mildred Jenkins Pattison.
Mrs. Phillips attended Trinity High School. She had worked for five years at Hills Department Store as a cook and was a homemaker.
She loved spending time with her grandchildren. There was always room for one more at her table.
On May 14, 1960, she married Thomas Martin “Diddle” Phillips, who died April 2, 2000.
Surviving are two sons, Charles Deyell (Dee) of Hudson, Florida and Thomas “Mark” Phillips (Jodi) of Washington; one daughter, Rose Donahue (Michael) of Prosperity; two stepdaughters, Linda Cole (Alan) of Washington and Donna Bell (Roy) of East-West Finley; one brother, Cameron Pattison of Washington; two sisters, Violet Hageter (Arthur) of West Virginia and Minnie Yeager Ohio; 6 grandchildren, Josh Deyell (Ashley), Cody Deyell (Ashley), Jessica Deems (Ryan), Jake Donahue (Amanda), Joel Phillips (Brittney), and Jordan Phillips; seven step grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren.
Deceased are two brothers, Walter Pattison (Christen) and David Pattison (Shirley); and a sister, Myrtle Robinson (Harley).
Friends will be received Monday from 1 till 3 and 5 till 7 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington.
