Robert Hageter, 83, of Washington, died Tuesday, January 13, 2015, in Greensburg Convalescent Care Center.
He was born April 26, 1931, in Chartiers Township, a son of August Hageter and Mary Kuzma Hageter.
Mr. Hageter served in the Air Force from April 14, 1951, until his honorable discharge on April 13, 1955, with a rank of Airman First Class. For his service, he was awarded the Korean Service Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, and United National Service Medal.
Mr. Hageter worked as a machinist at Precision Marshall Steel for 40 years. He was a member of Moose Lodge 22 in Washington and Fraternal Order of Bears in Meadowlands and enjoyed watching the Pirates, Steelers and Penguins and playing golf.
On October 26, 1956, he married Hazel Marie Hageter, who died March 29, 2005.
The last of his immediate family, he is survived by several nieces and nephews including Wayne Small and his wife Dorothy of Latrobe and their family.
Friends will be received Thursday from 2 to 4 and 5 to 7 p.m., the time of service, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. Private burial will be held in Unity Cemetery, Latrobe. Military rites will be accorded at the funeral home by American Legion Edwin Scott Linton Post 175.
