Jacqulyn Taneesha Elliott, 18, of Washington, died Saturday, January 10, 2015, in her home. She had been ill for a year and a half.
She was born August 30, 1996, in Cheverly, Maryland, a daughter of Prentice Donell Strand of Temperanceville, Virginia and Tracy Elliott of Fort Ashby, West Virginia.
Ms. Elliott was a graduate of Trinity High School and played softball throughout her school years. She thrived on education and was attending Slippery Rock University on a full academic scholarship.
For the past three years she worked at the Nike Store at Tanger Outlets, currently as head cashier.
Ms. Elliott was Christian.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are a brother, Shawn Lawrence Berdine of Washington; two sisters, Netrail Strand of Temperanceville, Virginia and Jordan Renee’ Schwartz of Fort Ashby, West Virginia; maternal grandmother, Penelope Elliott; and paternal grandparents, Rose and John Strand.
Deceased is her maternal grandfather, George Elliott.
Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m., in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 14th, with David Deagel officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery.
