Walter J. Howden Jr., 71 of Washington, died Thursday, January 8, 2015 at Washington Hospital.
He was born December 25, 1943 in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Walter Howden Sr. and Elizabeth Seres Howden.
Walter graduated from West Mifflin North High School in 1962.
He served in the U.S. Army Reserves and Army National Guard for six years.
He was employed at Washington Steel for 28 years.
Walter was a member of Holy Trinity National Catholic Church and enjoyed time with family and golfing.
On November 16, 1968, married Kathleen “Kay” Howden who survives.
Also surviving are a son Jonathan (Samantha) Howden of Canonsburg; a step sister, Jill Wilding of Irwin and several nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received Sunday, January 11, 2015 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes Ltd, 925 Allison Ave, Washington. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, January 12, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Holy Trinity National Catholic Church, 605 Hewitt Ave, Washington with Father Mark Swoger as celebrant. Burial is private.
