Robert "Bob" Johnson

Robert L. “Bob” Johnson, 58 of Avella, died unexpectedly, December 25, 2014 at Allegheny General Hospital. He was born November 28, 1956, in Washington, the son of the late, Albert Cyril Johnson and Elsie Margaret Smiley Johnson. Bob graduated from Trinity High School in 1976, and was a life long farmer. He was employed at Pennsylvania Drilling for over 25 years, and worked for Penn Dot in Hopewell Township for the last seven years. He loved his children, grandchildren, farming and was an avid outdoorsman. Bob was a member of North Buffalo Presbyterian Church. Surviving are two sons, Brandon (Suzy) Johnson of Bridgeport, WV and Brian (Margo) Johnson of Uniontown; a brother, Addison Newman of Washington; two sisters, Lois (John) Miller of Avella and Karen (Tom) Blackhurst; two grandchildren, Giavanna and Benjamin Johnson; several nieces and nephews and also his companion, Suzette Smith. Deceased is a brother, William “David” Newman and a sister Barbara Newman Doxtator. Friends will be received Sunday, December 28, from 2 to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Monday, December 29, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow at North Buffalo Cemetery.
