James Edward King Sr., 94 of Chartiers, died Friday, December 19, 2014 at the Washington County Health Center.
He was born August 22, 1920 in Canonsburg, the son of the late John George King and Elva Lena Work King.
James was a WWII veteran of the U.S. Army, where he received, the Good Conduct Medal, Service Medal with 5 bronze stars and the World War II Victory Medal
He worked for McGraw Edison for over 20 years as a stacker and builder.
He was a member of Chartiers Cross Roads Church and a life member of Canonsburg Sportsman Club and the Houston American Legion.
On June 22, 1943, he married Margaret June Davis who died in November 18, 1992.
Surviving are a son, James (Nancy) Edward King Jr. of Burgettstown; two daughters, Laurel King of Houston, Audra (Charles) King Young of Washington; two grandchildren, William Alexander Young and Erica (Kirby) Lynn Blass; a grandson, Henry Owen Blass.
Deceased are a brother, Jesse C. King and an infant sister.
Friends will be received from Monday, December 22, 2014 from 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave, Washington, where services will be held Tuesday, December 23rd at noon with Pastor Larry Deemer officiating. Burial will follow at Venice Cemetery. Military rites will be accorded by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #191.
