Julia Elizabeth Fetherlin, 89 of Washington, died Thursday, October 10,
2013 in Good Samaritan Hospice in Cabot.
Julia led a life of humility, goodness, and grace. She had a servant's heart, an unending devotion to God and her church, and she left a lasting legacy of love to her children, grandchildren and to all who knew her. "Well done, my good and faithful servant" - Matthew 25:23
She was born April 13, 1924 in Washington the daughter of Clyde Wilbert Hufford and Minnie Ethel Reese Hufford.
She was a cashier at McWreath Dairy and Baltimore Life Insurance.
She also taught kindergarten at Washington Christian School.
Julia was a member of Washington Alliance Church where she sang in the choir, was past president of the Prayer Fellowship, taught Sunday School and was a member of the Christian Women’s Club and the Women’s Missionary Fellowship.
On October 9, 1951 she married George Bernard Fetherlin, who died October 16, 2002.
Surviving are a son, Dr. Robert (Esther) L. Fetherlin of Colorado Springs, CO; two daughters, Nancy (Michael) K. Mattice of Vero Beach, FL, Ruth (Richard) A. Grassel of Ambridge, PA; a sister, Katherine Vaughn of Washington; seven grandchildren, David (Debra) Fetherlin, Suzanne (Sean) McLean, Nathan, Graham and Christopher Mattice, Jeremiah (Becca) Grassel, Jordan Grassel; three great grandchildren, Samuel, Titus and Anna Fetherlin; a great niece, Susan Sonson.
Friends will be received on Friday, October 11 from. 6 to 8 p.m. at William G. Neal Funeral Homes, 925 Allison Ave, Washington, PA. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 12th at the Washington Alliance Church, 246 Sanitarium Rd. Washington, with Rev. Clarence Croscutt officiating. Burial will follow at Washington Cemetery.
