Lois Arline Baynes, 75, of Washington, died unexpectedly, September 25, 2013, in UPMC – Presbyterian, Pittsburgh.
She was born October 22, 1937, in Washington, a daughter of the late Omar L. and Louisa Stoner Barney.
Mrs. Baynes was a graduate of Washington High School and California Teachers’ College and worked as a substitute teacher at the public schools in Waterford, Michigan. Later in her life, she was a long-time caregiver for her parents.
She was a member of the West End Neighborhood Watch and a part of the “House of the Month” in West End. Mrs. Baynes enjoyed craft shows and festivals, the Renaissance Festival and outdoor activities, especially camping, boating, and fishing.
Surviving are a son, Mark Steven Baynes (Mary Jo) of Linden, Michigan; a daughter, Linda Arlene Baynes (Jenny) of Cadillac, Michigan; a brother, Bill Barney (Gwen) of Robinson Township; a sister, Carol Ann Dixon (Bill) of Irwin; grandchildren, Kelsey Baynes, Katie Baynes, Tyler Boolman and Katie Warnock (Chris); a great-grandchild, Aiden Warnock; 3 nieces, Stacy (Mike) Barbour, and their children, Jenna and Andy; Stephanie (John Shakoske) Dixon; and Cristen (DeShawn) Jackson, and their children, Brian, Aleka and Cameron.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, September 28th, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, with Rev. Dr. Kenneth Schott officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Red Cross, 225 Boulevard of the Allies, Pittsburgh, PA 15222.
