Bernice Hunt Frazier

Bernice Janet Hunt Frazier, 73, of East Washington, died Friday, August 31, 2012, in UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, following a brief illness. She was born June 23, 1939, in Washington, a daughter of Earl K. and Grace Greco Hunt. Mrs. Frazier went to Immaculate Conception Grade School and graduated from Washington High School in 1957. At one time she worked at Loblaw’s Grocery Store. She attended Immaculate Conception Church. Mrs. Frazier loved reading, cooking, fashion, gardening, flowers, crossword puzzles, and a variety of music, especially the “blues”. She also loved being with her large family and extended family of grandchildren. She cared for animals, especially her devoted and loving cat, Jeter. In 1958, she married William Guy Cowden. They were married fourteen years and had four children. In 1976, she married Frank Frazier, of Aliquippa, who died in 1977. Surviving are her four children, Debra (Philo) Montgomery, of Wheeling, WV, Kimberly (Dave) Freno, of Cecil, Todd Cowden, of Washington, and Christy (Wayne) Campbell, of Columbus, OH; seven grandchildren, Justin, Kristen, and Jonna Freno, Krista and Marisa Montgomery, Ryan and Alex Campbell; two great grandchildren, Giovanna Grace Minella and Owen Shane Keller; sister, Laura Hunt, brother, Robert K. (Peggy) Hunt, both of Washington, two nieces, Emily (Dustin) Rush, of Robinson Twp., Pittsburgh, and Katy Hunt, of Washington. Deceased, in addition to her loving parents, is a very special grandson, Tyler Wayne Campbell. Friends will be received 4 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 6, 2012, in Immaculate Conception Church, 119 W. Chestnut Street, Washington. Entombment will follow in Washington Cemetery Mausoleum.
