View Video TributeRichard A. “Rick” Eakin, 57, of Washington, died Saturday, February 11, 2012, in the Donnell House, after battling advanced cancer for nearly two years.He was born March 26, 1954, in Chicopee, Massachusetts, a son of the late Glade Ambrose and Leaetta A. “Sis” Huffman Eakin.Mr. Eakin was a 20-year employee of William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., where he worked as the maintenance manager and a funeral home assistant. He had previously worked at Kopko Construction and Job Fab as a welder.Mr. Eakin was Protestant by faith.He enjoyed deer hunting with his brother-in-law, Kenny, carpentry, and working with his hands. He also enjoyed gardening and landscape work.His grandchildren were the greatest joy of his life.On June 13, 1987, he married Stacey L. Neal, who survives.Also surviving are his daughter, Alecia (John) Fincham, of Marianna; a brother, Glade A. (Betsy) Eakin II, of Washington; a sister, Tracie A. (Kenneth) Grove, of Prosperity; and four grandchildren, Jensen P. Lyle, Riley C. Lyle, Hallie B. Lyle and Emma G. Lyle.Preceding him in death, in addition to his parents, are a son, Ronald J. Lyle III; and a sister, Debra Arlene Beatty.Friends will be received Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. in William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Avenue, Washington, where services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, February 15th, with Pastor Gary Gibson officiating. Burial will follow in Washington Cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to Donnell House, Hospice Care of the Washington Hospital, 155 Wilson Avenue, Washington, PA 15301.
