Eileen Mae Firanski Thompson, 76, of West Finley, died Monday July 25, 2011 in her home. She had been in declining health.
She was born February 13, 1935 in Canonsburg, a daughter of Clarence W. Stewart and Zeta Mae Whipkey Stewart.
Mrs. Thompson attended Peters Township High School, and was a homemaker, working for four years in a restaurant in West Alexander. She was a past member of the Thomas Presbyterian Church, where she sang in the choir in the late 1950's.
On April 7, 1964, she married Richard Charles Firanski, Sr., who died July 24, 2001.
On October 4, 2004, she married Samuel J. Thompson, who survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Raymond Keith (Jeanie) Patterson of Moore, SC and Richard Charles Firanski, Jr. of West Alexander, PA; five daughters,
Karen Mae (Philip) Neubauer of Washington, PA, Kathleen Louise Hutchison of West Finley, PA, Kandie Eileen Bathgate of State College, PA, Eileen June (Michael) White of Washington, PA, and Bettymarie Supler of Washington, PA; 10 grandchildren; and 7 great grandchildren and a nephew, David L. (Dixie) Gardner and neice, Kimberly Jean Haughney, both of Amity, PA.
A sister, Doris Jean Haughney is deceased.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, July 29th, in West Union Cemetery, with Dr. Edward Woods officiating.
