Joseph C. Salisbury

Joseph C. Salisbury, 78, of Eighty-Four, PA, died on Saturday, March 19, 2011, at the Donnell House. He was born on June 15, 1932, in Erbacon, WV, a son of James M. and Ella Jane Rose Salisbury. Mr. Salisbury had worked for McGraw Edison, as a winder, for 17 years. He was Protestant by faith. Mr. Salisbury was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the VFW and the Loyal Order of the Moose. He enjoyed refinishing furniture and doing yard work, and he loved animals. On December 15, 1952, he married Lenora Johnson, who died on May 23, 2006. Surviving are 3 sons, Joseph E. Salisbury, of Eighty-Four, Robert A. Salisbury, of Canonsburg, and James T. Salisbury, of Eighty-Four; a daughter, Susan J. Doyle, of Eighty-Four; also surviving are a son-in-law, Jeffery Doyle, 2 daughters-in-law, Susan Salisbury Mutich and Debbie Salisbury, all 3 of whom he considered to be his children; 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews and several great nieces and nephews. Deceased are a grandson, James Timothy “Timmy” Salisbury, 2 sisters, Shirley Crouser and Goldie Paxton; 5 brothers, Harry A. Salisbury, Roy Salisbury, James Robert Salisbury, Clyde Salisbury and his twin brother, Jackson H. Salisbury. Friends will be received on Monday, March 21, 2011, from 12 to 2 p.m., in the William G. Neal Funeral Homes, Ltd., 925 Allison Ave., Washington, PA 15301, where services will be held immediately following at 2 p.m. Entombment will follow in the Washington Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial Donations may be made to the Washington Area Humane Society, P.O. Box 66, Eighty-Four, PA 15330.
